The problem with calculating net zero

This is a good explainer from The Guardian on how we are deluding ourselves that nature will help us get to net zero. Nature, or what is left of it, is already overburdened in sequestering carbon from natural sources as it has always done. But that doe not stop us from ignoring this and applying the natural sequestration as a credit against our ever increasing man-made emissions.
