Carbon Neutral New Zealand Trust (CNNZ) is a national “umbrella” organisation for citizen-based, bottom-up community initiatives aimed at addressing climate change at the local level.

CNNZ has developed a number of tools for individuals, households, businesses and communities to assess, reduce and where necessary offset their net greenhouse gas emissions. 

 

The measuring tools are being developed with each affiliated group/community to address their communities specific local conditions and desired outcomes.

 

Carbon Neutral New Zealand’s greenhouse gas reducing recommendations are aimed to link local citizens with local businesses or organisations supplying products or services that can help to reduce or mitigate household or business carbon emissions.

 

CNNZ is developing a carbon offsetting scheme whereby all offsetting donations received will be spent in the local area from which the donation came.
